Troubleshooting

Start here

Run /vs status. It reports the engine mode, processor health, capture state and licence state, and it decides which of the sections below you need.

Symptoms

SymptomCause and fix
Plugin will not start, "license check failed" Check license.key, then confirm the server can reach the licensing API. If it has been offline for more than seven days the cached grant has expired — see offline grace.
Plugin will not load at all Simple Voice Chat is missing or failed to enable. VoiceSniffer depends on it.
No flags, ever Three usual causes: engine.mode is still none; Simple Voice Chat is not actually carrying voice; or the engine is not ready. /vs status distinguishes them.
code=timeout in the log The processor did not answer inside the budget. Voice chat kept working — that is fail-open. Check the processor's own logs for that request id, and read capacity if it is frequent.
401 from the processor processor.token is missing or does not match an entry in tokens.json.
403 language_not_licensed You pinned a language your plan does not include. Use auto, or pin one that is licensed.
429 rate_limited Over your per-minute allowance. Respect Retry-After; if it is sustained, the plan is too small for the server.
503 processor_busy Admission is full. Not an error condition — see busy is not broken.
Czech (or another language) missed Confirm the rule pack is installed and that your plan licenses it. On cloud, a pinned language outside the plan is refused rather than downgraded.
Sentences flagged in halves, or not at all A lowered hangover-ms splits sentences and breaks phrase rules. Put it back to 600 — see why these numbers.
Flags on coughs and keyboard noise minimum-utterance-ms is too low, or rms-threshold is picking up room noise. The shipped 250 / 450 are the tuned values.
Embedded mode never becomes ready The model download or its hash check failed; the log says which. Embedded stays unavailable rather than half-working.

If none of that is it

Bring the following to support: your server version, the /vs status output, your engine mode, the timestamp, and the request id from the log line if there is one. Redact your licence key and processor token — nobody in support needs either.
